As someone who prioritizes spending time in the mountains, I find immense joy in exploring the diverse and picturesque mountain towns scattered throughout the state. Choosing your venue is undeniably the first and most crucial step in bringing the vision you've crafted for your big day into a reality. As a hair and makeup vendor in the industry, i know that the right venue serves as the foundation upon which all other elements of the wedding are built. It sets the tone, influences the decor, and even impacts the overall guest experience. When selecting a venue in the mountains, it's essential to consider not only the aesthetic appeal of the location but also its accessibility and the amenities it offers.
Nestled at the base of Rock Mountain National Park, Estes Park is home to some of the most scenic wedding venues in Colorado. It's proximity of only about 90 minutes away from Denver, which minimizes the amount of travel involved for out of town guests.
What makes Estes Park so special In choosing locations for your wedding, is its unique blend of natural beauty provides a wide array of activities that to cater to every outdoor enthusiast or nature lover's interests. This can significantly enhance the overall wedding experience, making it not just a one-day event but a memorable getaway for everyone involved.
Whether you're a novice or experienced angler, Lake Estes is heavily stocked with trout. Head over to Lake Estes Marina. where you can rent various watercraft, including boats, paddle boards, canoes, or kayaks.
For those who prefer to explore on foot, Estes Park boasts an extensive network of hiking trails to choose from throughout RMNP.
As you stroll through the carming town where you will likely encounter the local wildlife, including the elk that roam freely in the area.
I'm excited to highlight a few of the wedding venues that I've had the opportunity to work at; each with their own unique features.
Wild Basin Lodge is one of Estes Park wedding venues that is secluded; surrounded by the rushing Saint Vrain creek and stunning mountain backdrops. |
The reason I'm able to work onsite here is because they only have one wedding per day, allowing early entry to the getting ready suite. (Early morning entry is often either not available at venues, or requires an extra fee.) The morning sets the tone for the entire day. Getting ready on site offers great convenience and presents a sense of calm knowing you and the wedding party won't have to travel afterwards.
You really just can't beat the updated bridal suite. A well designed space can make all the difference in ensuring everyone is comfortable. It's equipped with a hair and makeup room, attached to a large dressing room, and a separate lounge area. It also includes a balcony overlooking the Rocky Mountains.

Among 13 acres, the layout of the venue has the dinner space downstairs and cocktail hour/dancing upstairs.
Bonus Points: The Wild Basin Lodge include their in-house family-style cuisine. Offering an elk roast option reflects the bounty of the region.
Additionally, guests will be entertained by the innovative approach of llama beverage servers.

Imagine your ceremony being held in a meadow, with the dramatic backdrop of Mt Meeker and Longs Peak. Envision your first dance moments at the riverfront site, surrounded by the beautiful aspen trees.
The Landing is one of Estes Park wedding venues that I would best describe as a rustic and intimate retreat, situated on the Big Thompson River.

Pictured here, beautiful views of Longs Peak from the large attached deck. The property comes equipped with cozy amenities like an indoor fireplace, and picnic seating area.

Holding up to 100 guests, the event hall contains exposed wood beams and large windows for natural light.
Lodging includes riverside cabins and spacious suites. We also had access to the dedicated hair and makeup room for an early start.
